Program

The Journal club consists in a series of meetings that takes place once a month, wherein a third-year student (speaker) presents scientific articles related to their field of research (20 minutes per oral presentation) and subsequently discusses them with a fourth/third-year student (discussant). The speaker must indicate the topic of the meeting and provide the discussant with the slides at least two weeks in advance so that the discussant can elaborate his/her comments before the presentation.

First and second year students are strongly encouraged to participate as audience, whereas it is mandatory for all third-year students to participate as speaker or discussant in at least one meeting.

This activity will be evaluated with the following criteria:

• 1 EC speaker/discussant
• 0.5 EC attendance

In the shared drive folder a calendar can be found with a suggested schedule of the meetings (date, speaker’s name, suggested discussant, title). It is possible to exchange dates with another student. We provided a list of suggested discussants for each candidate, however the matches can be switched or adjusted.

All the meetings will take place on Thursday at 5 pm via Webex.
