INTERNAL PHD COURSE REGULATIONS

It is mandatory for PhD student to update their personal web site page.

Courses

The Toolbox Courses are mandatory and must be attended by each PhD student during the first year. See the web site. All the other Courses are optional. During all the lessons, the attendance of the PhD students will be recorded by the Professor/lecturer through the collection of the signatures on dedicated documents. In case of PhD students attending the lessons online, their attendance will be notified by the teacher on the same documents. These documents will be subsequently examined by the PhD Program committee. Also, the attendance to the seminars organized by the PhD Program will be recorded. The attendance to one seminar corresponds to 0.5 ECTS.

The PhD Courses can be attended only in person. Only those students who are abroad for study or research reasons on the dates of the courses can follow the courses online. In this case it is necessary to report the issue to the email address rossana.botto@unito.it within one week before the date of the course and the link for the connection will be sent via email. Finally, there may be particular cases in which the Professor requests that the course or lesson be carried out online. In these cases students will be notified both via email and on the course page.

Abroad study period

It is mandatory to carry out a study period abroad of at least 3 months during the PhD cycle. Specific individual cases of impossibility to perform the period abroad must be presented and discussed with the PhD scientific board. Research period abroad

Admission to the PhD Thesis presentation

At least one scientific peer reviewed paper (article) in impact factor journals with the first name is required. This publication must be related to the doctoral project.

Budget 10%

Each PhD student has personal funds to use for his/her own education. The budget can be accumulated over the years and cannot be spent after the end of the doctoral programme. This document specifies the allowed spending activities through these funds. For the use of the personal budget it is necessary to use the ESCO Unito service.
