Phd thesis

There is growing evidence that detection of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in healthy older adults, prior to conversion to mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and eventually Alzheimer’s disease (AD), is critical to the diagnosis of cognitive impairment. Early detection of cognitive, behavioural, or functional symptoms will help provide important information about the clinical staging of individuals on the AD continuum. A better understanding of metacognitive executive functions and their neural substrates is needed. To objectify the significance of these prodromal markers, the aim of my project will be to investigate the executive control processes in SCD and MCI using in-depth neuropsychological assessment and neuroimaging techniques.
